Best PetPet Settings for Discord and Twitch

Recommended PetPet export sizes, speed, squish, background, and positioning for emotes and reaction GIFs.

PetPet GIFs are often used as Discord reactions, Twitch chat emotes, and small community memes. Small outputs need stronger composition than large images because every pixel matters.

Recommended size

For the classic meme look, export 112 x 112. For a cleaner master file, export 256 x 256 first, then resize or compress for the platform that needs it.

Recommended speed

Start at 8 fps. Lower speeds feel softer and more affectionate. Higher speeds feel more chaotic and work well for joke reactions.

Recommended subject size

Most avatars work around 85 percent to 95 percent subject size. If the subject is a logo, use a slightly smaller size so the edges do not clip.

Recommended position

Move the subject down if the hand covers the face. Move it up if the animation looks like it is petting the background instead of the character.

Recommended background

White or warm cream backgrounds work for most avatars. Dark backgrounds help white logos and transparent artwork stay visible.

Export and platform boundaries

The available square sizes are 64, 112, 128, 256, 512 and 1024 pixels. A larger size can help inspection but usually makes a larger file; GIF is limited-color and cannot add missing image detail. Backgrounds in this tool are opaque, including when the source PNG is transparent.

These are composition starting points, not guaranteed Discord or Twitch upload specifications. Check the destination's current animated-emote size, file-size and account requirements before sharing. If an upload is rejected, try a smaller export or compress the file with a separate tool. Animated profile pictures and custom emotes may require platform-specific permissions or subscriptions; this generator does not unlock them.

A reproducible example

The homepage shows an actual 512-pixel export with five frames and a 0.65-second loop. Its settings are 8 fps, squish 1.25, subject size 120%, position -12/-30, Fit, and white background. The downloadable sample source lets you try those settings yourself. Different source margins need different placement, so 88% default scale is only a starting point.
